A partire dalla XXIII Edizione 2005 è stato istituito il Premio Finale “La Voce dei Lettori”, assegnato, nel contesto della celebrazione conclusiva, all’opera che, tra le vincitrici nelle tre Sezioni della terna in concorso, ottiene il maggior numero di voti da parte della “Giuria dei quaranta lettori”. Quest’ultima, nominata ogni anno dal Consiglio Direttivo dell’Associazione, si compone di quaranta membri scelti secondo diversi criteri di rappresentanza, età, interessi e professionalità.

Nel contesto della cerimonia finale di premiazione, per iniziativa del Cav. Adriano Zanotto, chef del Ristorante Parco Gambrinus, viene assegnato una tantum – a partire dal 1994 (Edizione XII) – il Premio “Gambero d’Oro”: un riconoscimento a personalità che si siano particolarmente distinte nel campo dell’enogastronomia e della cultura del cibo, raccogliendo ancora una volta l’eredità di Giuseppe Mazzotti, nella valorizzazione della cucina come parte integrante ed espressione della cultura del territorio.
Hanno ricevuto, negli anni, questo Premio: Luigi Veronelli, gastronomo e Giovanni Caniato, archivista e storico (1994); Luis Sepúlveda, scrittore (1995); Vincenzo Buonassisi, giornalista e gastronomo (1996); Massimo Alberini, studioso di enogastronomia (1998); Giovanni Nuvoletti, attore e gastronomo (1999); Giuseppe Dell’Osso, Presidente Accademia Italiana della Cucina (2003); Carlo Petrini, fondatore e Presidente di Slow Food (2015).
